about

Written when I was just 14 years old, this is the first song that I ever wrote. "Iota" refers to a very small amount of something, and is a term I learned from my mother.

We have all been in relationships we KNOW are bad for us, and in our own timing, find our way out of these bad relationships. However, just because we know that a situation is bad for us, it doesn't stop the love that we feel for a person. This song is about that period in time when you know you've gotten away from a bad thing, but still miss that special person.

lyrics

v1:
Today/ All I was taught I threw away
brought up on it as a baby
I shoved love out the door and turned the other way
What am I to do
with this loneliness brought on by you
I guess my tears took its place
when I shoved love out the door and turned the other way

chorus:
I know I say I don't miss him
not one iota
but ya'll know I love to lie
and at night I plead into the sheets
oh baby won't ya
come back to me

v2:
tomorrow/ I pick up the pieces of my sorrow
i'll pack my bags/ grab my keys/ just go/ can't be here
heart full of pain/eyes full of tears
now I know I said I don't miss him
but a liar is what they call me
and lately
i'll do anything
to get him to come back to me

bridge:
you know I need u to come back to me
you know your love is all I ever need
you can't just love me then throw me away
I know I said I didn't miss him
